Job Summary

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing the sourcing and procurement of raw materials, components, and supplies required to support production and ongoing operations. This role manages supplier relationships to ensure quality standards, cost competitiveness, and delivery performance are met. The position also provides direct leadership to purchasing and stockroom staff and supports inbound and outbound logistics, including freight coordination and inter-facility material movement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Purchasing team and Stockroom leadership to align procurement and inventory activities with production requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and track purchasing strategies and key performance indicators.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms with suppliers.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies in coordination with Accounts Payable.
  • Partner with Quality teams to address non-conformance and supplier quality issues.
  • Monitor overdue purchase orders and adjust delivery timelines to reduce production risk.
  • Identify and qualify alternative suppliers to improve cost efficiency and reduce rework or returns.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to define inspection requirements for incoming materials.
  • Work closely with Inventory and Accounting functions to manage stock levels and product costing.
  • Oversee domestic and international freight coordination, quotes, and contracts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (10+ years preferred).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing teams.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise inventory or ERP systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing freight logistics, contracts, and international shipments.
  • Ability to apply independent judgment to complex sourcing and procurement decisions.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
